The foray into asset management, apart from being a logical business extension that rounds off its client offerings, also fulfils Spark’s long-standing ambition to add an annuity business to its existing bouquet of agency businesses. Spark’s view is that the cornerstones on which it built its extant businesses-trust, integrity and transparency-remain exceptionally relevant in the notoriously volatile domain of money management. The emphasis on the steady, as opposed to the spectacular, is what will serve as the business’ key differentiator, even as we embark on this initiative and launch products across both equity and alternate asset platforms.
