Senior Managing Director & Chief Executive Officer

Rama – builder of relationships, trust and a canny visionary – believes that clients must gain from every interaction with Spark, be it routine or strategic. And this is one aspect he keeps a close eye on. Rama gets personally involved when it comes to business advisory and capital raising areas. A first generation entrepreneur, Rama is an MBA from BIM Trichy – education which he thereafter put to good use and honed through stints at Peregrine Capital and ITC Financial Services.

Senior Managing Director, Strategic Relationships

Ramakrishnan (Ramki) is Spark’s go-to man for all of their strategic relationships. Finely tuned into the ecosystem, he is Spark’s most visible face. With over two decades of experience including a stint at ICICI Securities as their Investment banking head for South India, Ramki brings trust and relationships to play at Spark and acts as a custodian of clients’ interests. He is an MBA from BIM, Trichy.

Kapil Ramamurthy,

Senior Managing Director, New Business Initiatives

Another member of the founding Team, Kapil oversees the Investment Advisory business apart from playing a key role in all the strategic decisions/initiatives of Spark. With extensive background across public market equities and debt structuring, Kapil has previously worked with HDFC Bank, GE Capital and Standard Chartered Bank. He is an MBA from BIM, Trichy.

V Suresh Babu,

Senior Managing Director, Finance & Operations

Suresh is the point man of Spark’s businesses from a finance, compliance, technology and risk standpoint. He was part of the leadership team that conceptualised Spark’s entry into the Institutional Equities business. An MBA from BIM, Trichy, he started his career with Synergy Credit Corporation at Mumbai, and has had stints with Cholamandalam Securities and IL&FS Investsmart.

Thyagesh

Thyagesh Baba,

Non-Executive Director

Part of the founding team, Thyagesh is a die-hard investment banking and equities man. Nothing gives him more of a rush than a deal sourced or executed. Since his exit from an active role at Spark, Thyagesh lives in Singapore and spends his time pursuing personal interests. An MBA from IIM Bangalore, Thyagesh worked with Peregrine Capital and Citigroup before Spark came into being.

Managing Director, Institutional Equities

Ganeshram heads the institutional equities division at Spark. Home grown and a highly rated Banking analyst, Ganeshram has over 15 years of experience in equities. He uses his background and network in corporate banking to go the extra mile with his research, having spent years with Standard Chartered Bank and HSBC. He is a Certified Public Accountant.

Skanda Jayaraman,

Managing Director, Investment Banking

Skanda heads the investment banking division at Spark. Skanda has led transactions and successfully closed deals in various sectors, including Healthcare Services where Spark Capital enjoys a leadership position. An MBA from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, Skanda’s earlier work experience include roles as a risk management specialist at Standard Chartered Bank (Singapore) and PricewaterhouseCoopers(Singapore).

WV Shanker,

Managing Director, Fixed Income Advisory

Shanker heads Spark’s Fixed Income Advisory division. In his last stint at IndusInd Bank, Shanker focussed extensively on creating structured and tailor-made solutions to clients across a wide range of sectors in South India. An MBA from XLRI, Jamshedpur, Shanker has over 20 years of industry experience across companies such as Tata group, Citicorp and ICICI Bank.

Vijayaraghavan

S Vijayaraghavan,

Director, Equity Research

Vijayaraghavan has significant sell-side equity research experience, apart from portfolio management and treasury functions. With Spark Capital’s Institutional Equities, he initiated standalone listed companies in multiple sectors under the brand Mid-cap Ideas at Spark (MID@S). He has specific interests in Infrastructure, Industrials and Cement sectors. He is a Chartered Accountant.
